Early Action Scholarship
Early Action Award
Requirements: Must apply for Early Action (non-binding) by December 1
Value: $2,000 per year
Other Notes: Students must submit and complete an application for admission during the early action deadline period. The award is in addition to other scholarships and is renewable for four years of study provided the student continues to be enrolled full-time and remains in good academic standing.
Academic Scholarships
Wesson Honors Scholarship
Requirements: Students with a 3.75 GPA at point of admission are eligible to apply for this scholarship.
Value: $17,000 per year
Other Notes: This award is competitive and includes direct admission into the Wesson Honors Program. Selection is by committee review and awards are limited. It is renewable annually for four years of study dependent upon good academic standing in the Wesson Honors Program.
Deadline: Scholarships are limited and we recommended that students complete their applications for admission and the Wesson Honors Program by February 1. Please note: Students who qualify to apply for the Wesson Honors program will be notified through the mail, following their acceptance to Colby-Sawyer. Applying for the honors program is separate from our Merit Award application process and eligible students are encouraged to pursue both.
Founders Scholarship
Requirements: 3.5 GPA at point of admission
Value: $16,000 per year
Other Notes: This award is competitive and selection is by committee review. Students receiving this award have graduated from high school with honors level classes and a rigorous college preparatory program. It is renewable annually for four years of study dependent upon maintaining a 3.3 GPA while enrolled at Colby-Sawyer.
Deadline: Scholarships are limited and we recommended that students complete their application for admission by February 1.
Presidential Scholarship
Requirements: 3.3 GPA at point of admission
Value: $14,000 per year
Other Notes: Renewable annually for four years of study dependent upon maintaining a 3.0 GPA while enrolled at Colby-Sawyer.
Chargers Scholarship
Requirements: 3.0 GPA at point of admission
Value: $12,000 per year
Other Notes: Renewable annually for four years of study dependent upon maintaining a 2.75 GPA while enrolled at Colby-Sawyer.
Merit Based Awards
Colby-Sawyer College acknowledges the unique talents and interests of our students through our Merit Awards. Awards will be available in fields such as leadership, community service, art, and creative writing. Students are eligible to apply for merit awards at any point, including prior to being accepted. Students may only apply for one merit award.

PhD positions in Population Genetics, Vienna, Austria
Procedure
We encourage young, enthusiastic graduate students intrigued by the interdisciplinary nature of the Vienna Graduate School of Population Genetics to apply for the program within the application deadline. However, interested students are welcome to apply throughout the year as additional positions may become available. A high level of dedication and activity will be expected from you during the program, and you should be able to integrate into a very international team with English as the working language.

¡a copy of your university degree that enables you to pursue a doctoral study (diploma, master); if you will earn your degree after the deadline: please supply recent transcripts
¡an indication of two preferred topics
¡at least two reference letters (download form below) assessing your scientific qualifications need to be e-mailed directly to us. Please allow sufficient time for your referees to send their letters within the deadline!
The selected candidates will be invited for an interview with the faculty members.
The interview will consist of three phases:
1.presentation of one publication selected by the applicant from three publications suggested by the faculty.
2.questions of the faculty to the applicant about the paper and the applicant's background and motivation
3.questions of the applicant to the faculty.
As the next step in the selection procedure the applicants will have the opportunity to interact with current students of the Vienna Graduate School of Population Genetics. This will take place without the presence of the faculty members and should provide the applicants with further insights into the spirit of the PhD program. Furthermore, the applicants are given the opportunity to interact with the prospective thesis advisor to discuss specific aspects of the project. The final decision is made by the faculty, aiming to recruit the candidates with the highest scientific potential.

Masters/PhD Scholarships at University of Canterbury
The University of Canterbury (UC) offers a number of scholarships for study towards a PhD degree or for the thesis year of a Masters degree. There is strong competition for these scholarships and applicationmust have gained at least a first class honours degree, or the equivalent, for it to be worth applying. To be considered for a University of Canterbury Master or Doctoral scholarship, in addition to submitting a scholarship application form, a complete application for admission shouldbe made before or at the same time as the scholarship application is made. If admission has not been approved by prescribed dates, the scholarship application will not be considered. University of Canterbury Doctoral Scholarships
University of Canterbury Doctoral Scholarships are tenable for full-time study or part-time study towards the PhD degree at the University of Canterbury. Applicants are also considered for the following prestigious scholarships: Brownlie Scholarship; Roper Scholarship; Canterbury Scholarship (domestic students); and/or UC International Doctoral Scholarships (international students). A small number of Doctoral scholarships are reserved for certain colleges/ faculties: Business and Economics; Creative Arts; Education; and Law.
